I have started a course on Botanical drawing. I have the materials list and attended the first two classes. So far we have drawn leaves from observation, a couple of timed sketches, drawing with a continuous line, drawing with out looking at the paper and then drawing looking for the negative spaces, these helpful techniques kept us on our toes for the first lesson. The second lesson we mixed a healthy green, ( this was time consuming ) then painting various strokes aiming for a smooth brush technique, talking about layers and light, and graduated colour. After seeing the examples we all wanted to go home and make our own sample sheets. I do not have any examples to show you yet.
