We decided to use an old book for a journal, for many reasons this seemed to be an interesting thing to do. Mindful that our other projects might suffer we thought that it would still be worthwhile. I forgot to take a picture of the original book, bother! It has a dark brown cover now with walnut ink, shellac, pva, and patterned daphne paper. The hardest thing so far is to overcome the lifetime rules of not defacing books, no notations in margin, no folding back of corners, no bending back of spine and no tearing out pages!
